As you approach the space between platforms 9 and 10, you look around and notice several kids in brown robes. Others, you see, are pushing carts and some even have large cages containing owls.
It is only after seeing the kids with carts that you realize that, in all of the confusion and haste to recover your mother’s journal, you didn’t get any supplies while in Diagon Alley!
You are considering what to do next, when you absent-mindedly adjust your grip on the brown bag that Quirrell left with you. At a loss for anything else to do, you open it and examine its contents. The first thing you notice is that this bag holds far more items than it has any right to! It must have had an engorgement charm placed upon it. Inside, you see the following:
- One set of plain robes, a pointed black hat, and tough brown gloves, all wrapped up inside of a thick dark-green cloak.
- First-Year Books for the following classes: .
- A cauldron filled with vials, scales, and what appear to be basic ingredients.
- And finally, an assortment of parchment, inks, and quills.
(No need to mark these items on your Magical Me chart)
You appear to be missing some books, but at least you have the most important subjects. Somehow, Quirrell knew that you would need some things for school and was able to get most of what you would have purchased, if you had been given the time.
Seeing all of the magical school supplies brings back memories of seeing your brother off to Hogwarts. You vividly recall the jealousy you had to endure watching him get these interesting items and leave to learn magic. Meanwhile, you were a squib, stuck in a Muggle's world.
But today...you, , are about to pass thru this ancient portal, board a magical train, and attend a school in order to survive and thrive as a in a magical world!
Your heart begins to beat rapidly in your chest, as you take a deep breath and try to steady your nerves.
You run directly at the wall between platforms 9 and 10. Turn to page 76.
